About Bettina of Sweden

With more than 25 years in visual communication, advertising and art direction, I have developed a deep understanding of visual language, composition and storytelling.

Photography is at the heart of my artistic practice. I work exclusively with photographs I take myself, combining my own photography with digital composition to transform fragments of reality into imagined worlds.

My works often begin with something real — a person, a place or a moment — but evolve into carefully constructed narratives where reality and imagination meet. I explore themes of identity, memory, vulnerability and human experience, creating images that invite the viewer to look twice and find their own meaning.

Alongside my photographic works, I create silk scarves featuring imagery from my art, allowing the work to exist beyond the traditional frame.

My practice moves between photography and contemporary art, with a strong focus on distinctive, emotionally resonant visual narratives.
