How does a marketplace for handmade products work?

Cay Collective is a marketplace where you buy art and design directly from creators. This means each creator is responsible for their own products, production, and shipping. Many items are handmade or made-to-order, making each purchase more unique compared to traditional e-commerce.

Is it safe to buy from individual creators?

Yes, it is safe to shop from creators on Cay Collective. All creators are verified before they start selling. You also have a 14-day return policy and can easily communicate directly with the creator via our chat function if you have questions about your order.

How do you ensure product quality?

All creators on Cay Collective are carefully reviewed before joining the platform. We place strong emphasis on quality, materials, and how each product is presented, to ensure a consistently high standard across everything we offer. Everything is made by humans, not AI. Since you buy directly from the creator, they are fully responsible for production and quality.

Are all products unique?

All our products are unique and created as original works, nothing is mass-produced. The exception is our posters, which are produced in editions but always created by real artists. No content is AI-generated.

Some posters and prints are also available as limited editions or signed copies, which is always specified in the product description.

Can handmade products vary?

Yes, small variations may occur since our products are handmade, and that’s part of what makes them unique. Each item is created by people, not machines, giving it its own character.

For example, ceramics may vary slightly in shape and size, and jewelry or details may differ from piece to piece. Colors and finishes may also have natural variations. We always follow the product description, but differences in craftsmanship are something we value.

What does “limited edition” mean?

A limited edition means the product is made in a restricted quantity. Once sold out, no more will be produced, making each piece more unique and often more desirable. Some items may also be signed if stated in the description.

What is a fine art print?

A fine art print is a high-quality art reproduction printed on premium paper, often using archival inks for long-lasting color and detail.

What sizes are available for posters?

Sizes vary by product and are listed in each product description.

Is a frame included?

No, unless otherwise stated in the product description.

Delivery & Shipping

Delivery within Sweden

Delivery typically takes 4-7 business days, and your order is delivered to your nearest pickup point. Posters and frames usually arrive faster, within 3-5 business days.

Made-to-order or customized items may take longer. Exact delivery times are always stated in the product description. If not, feel free to contact us at hello@caycollective.com and we can help you figure it out.

International delivery

Delivery usually takes 7-10 business days, sent to your nearest pickup point. Posters and frames typically arrive within 4-7 business days.

What happens in case of delays?

If there are delays, the creator will contact you directly via the chat function. You can also reach out to them at any time.

Who ships the products?

All products are shipped directly from the creator, except posters, which are printed and shipped from our print studio in Sweden.

How does delivery work for larger orders?

Orders may arrive in multiple shipments since they are sent directly from creators. You will receive tracking information for each delivery.

Posters and frames are typically delivered within 3-5 business days in Sweden and 4-7 days internationally.

Shipping costs

Shipping is calculated at checkout based on destination, size, and weight.

Will I receive a tracking number?

Yes, once your order has shipped, you’ll receive a confirmation email with tracking details.

Payment & Security

Is my payment secure?

Yes, all payments are securely processed through Shopify with encryption to keep your information protected. We use trusted payment methods such as Visa, Klarna, and Apple Pay.

What payment methods do you accept?

Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay, Klarna, and Swish.

Returns & Claims

How do I make a return?

Returns and claims are handled directly with the creator through our chat function, which you’ll get access to after placing your order (via SMS and email).

There, you can easily start a return or claim request that both the creator and Cay Collective can follow. You have a 14-day return policy from the day you receive your order.

Once the creator has approved your return, you’ll receive the return address and further instructions. After the item has been received and reviewed, your refund will be processed.

If you wish to make a claim, you’ll need to describe the issue and provide images of the item directly in the chat.

If you and the creator are unable to reach an agreement, Cay Collective can step in and review the case to help find a resolution.

Who pays for return shipping?

If the return is not due to a defect or damage, the customer is responsible for the return shipping cost.

Claims

All returns and claims are handled directly with the creator through our chat function. You have a 14-day return policy from the day you receive your order.

If you wish to make a claim, you’ll need to provide a description of the issue along with images of the item directly in the chat.

If you and the creator are unable to reach an agreement, Cay Collective can step in and review the case to help find a resolution.

Customs & Fees

Customs & Fees

Customs duties and import fees may apply for orders shipped across borders. These charges are handled by the carrier and are the responsibility of the customer. Information about where the product is shipped from can be found on the product page. Please note that if a product is shipped from outside the EU, EU customers may be required to pay customs duties and taxes upon delivery or pickup.

Do you sell to businesses?

Yes, we work with businesses and offer tailored pricing for larger orders. Feel free to contact us at hello@caycollective.com and we’ll assist you with a quote or invoice.

What payment terms do you offer for businesses (e.g. 30 days)?

You can either complete your purchase directly through our website using one of the available payment options at checkout, or contact us to place an order via invoice. For invoice payments, we offer 30-day payment terms.

Can we place larger or bulk orders?

Yes, larger orders are absolutely possible. If you’re interested in purchasing in higher volumes, feel free to contact us, we offer favorable pricing for orders of more than 10 products or higher total values.

Do you offer volume discounts?

Yes, we offer attractive volume discounts. For orders of more than 10 items or higher total values, don’t hesitate to reach out and we’ll be happy to assist you.

Can creators produce custom pieces for businesses?

Most of our creators accept custom orders. Feel free to contact us at hello@caycollective.com and we’ll help you find the right creator and bring your idea to life.

Do you assist with art for offices, hotels, or public spaces?

Yes, we have experts in art and design who help businesses create tailored proposals, including moodboards and visualizations before ordering. We can also assist with delivery and sometimes the installation if needed.

Can you curate art for larger projects?

Yes, we offer curated and tailored art solutions for larger projects, supported by our team of art and design experts.
