Ties That Bind is a series of four sculptures that explore girlhood and growing up.

Through all cultures girls grow up getting their hair braided. A simple act, that can hold a lot of unsaid words, feelings and power.

Named after important women in my life, this is Jessica.

  • Handmade frame made from lacquered wood, with a stoneware sculpture and aluminum details
  • Made and shipped from the Netherlands
