A large ceramic handbuilt mug in a mix of light beige and white color tones. A unique one-of-a-kind object for those slow, warming moments with your favorite coffee or tea. The mug is large and holds more than 4 deciliters.
Here’s how the mug is made:
I start by making templates in paper for all my designs. Then the clay is kneaded thoroughly. I use a special kind of rolling pin to make large and thin slabs, the technique is called slab-building. They need to dry slightly before I can cut, bend and join the pieces of clay. When the item is finished, it must dry again before it can be bisque fired, then glazed, and then high-fired. The whole process takes several weeks from start to finish.
