Gift yourself or your loved ones with this unique home decor, a large ceramic handbuilt mug in a mix of white and beige color tone. A unique one-of-a-kind object for those slow, warming moments with your favorite coffee or tea. The mug is extra large and holds 5 deciliters, or half a liter.
Here’s how the mug is made:
I start by making templates in paper for all my designs. Then the clay is kneaded thoroughly. I use a special kind of rolling pin to make large and thin slabs, the technique is called slab-building. They need to dry slightly before I can cut, bend and join the pieces of clay. When the item is finished, it must dry again before it can be bisque fired, then glazed, and then high-fired to approx 1260˚C (cone 8). The whole process takes several weeks from start to finish.
