Cat-astrophe over Södermalm is a three-color silkscreen print depicting a giant cat poised to pounce on two tiny humans in the heart of the city, with Katarina kyrka as the backdrop.

Printed color by color on high-quality Fabriano 250 g paper, each print is produced entirely by hand using traditional silkscreen printing techniques.

About silkscreen printing

Silkscreen printing (also known as screen printing) is a manual printmaking technique in which ink is pushed through a stencil onto paper using a mesh screen. Each color is printed separately, one layer at a time, requiring careful alignment and drying between passes. This hands-on process gives the print its distinctive character: variations in detail, texture, and color density are inherent to the technique and are a hallmark of authentic, handcrafted prints.
