Year of the Snake explores the thin, shifting boundary between destruction and regeneration, harm and healing. The snake, long feared for its venom, embodies this paradox: what can kill may also cure. Modern medicine harnesses this duality, transforming toxins into life-saving treatments. Here, the snake becomes a symbol of the constant tension between forces that seem opposing but are actually part of the same cycle.
The work reflects on the nature of boundaries, not as fixed lines, but as porous, contextual, and often illusory constructs. Through the act of shedding its skin, the serpent evokes transformation as a process of crossing boundaries, dissolving identities, and emerging anew. It's an invitation to question where one state ends and another begins, and to consider how survival itself depends on the ability to move fluidly across these ever-shifting lines.
