Product Description

Quirky and chunky version of the Staffordshire spaniel dog figurine inspired by the Victorian-era folklore tale of wife´s with seafaring husbands.

According to the legend, the placement of the dogs on a fireplace mantel or in a window served as a silent, secret communication method for lovers. If the husband was home, the spaniels were turned back-to-back, facing away from each other. If the husband was away, the spaniels were turned to face each other.

This particular spaniel does no such mischief. But it does indicate what kind of mood it owner is possessing.

This is a one-of-a-kind, two-faced 17 cm stoneware figurine in a soft white clay with a clear glaze.
