Isabel’s work is all handmade using stoneware clay, and she finds great joy in exploring and combining various techniques depending on the piece she is creating. Her artistic approach is deeply intuitive, and she embraces the freedom of experimenting with different methods to bring her ideas to life. Her artwork can be described as minimalistic yet expressive, striking a delicate balance between simplicity and emotion. The passion Isabel has for clay is rooted in the intricate and often fragile process of creation. For her, ceramics is not just about the end result but about the journey – one that begins with the endless possibilities of raw clay, which is molded and shaped with care and intention. The work then goes through two firings at over a thousand degrees, transforming the material into something permanent and enduring. This lengthy and precise process makes each piece unique and imbued with its own character, and it is this combination of craftsmanship, patience, and transformation that fuels Isabel’s love for her craft. Every piece she creates is a testament to the beauty of the handmade process, where every curve, texture, and form has been carefully considered. For Isabel, ceramics is a way to capture and preserve something timeless – a form of artistic expression that holds a lasting significance beyond time.
