BatVader’s Sunset at Mariaberget, Stockholm Original

April 14, 2025. It was the day for exploring Södermalm. Walked there in the morning. It was cloudy first but then we had sunshine. I went up and down the streets, bought a present, walked more and came to Mariaberget. You might think, “Erdem, you’re saying morning but this is the sunset in the painting.” Yes, I was at Mariaberget twice that day. One at noon and one during sunset. At noon, I sat under a tree for a long time and just watched the view of Sthlm. Then I walked some more and looked at art galleries. Long story short, had to buy a sculpture from a very talented and kind artist Lars Amede because I chipped a sculpture by mistake and couldn’t leave it there. The sculpture was meant to be coming back with me. Kind of a funny day. 😅 Had to go back to my hotel, I returned to Södermalm in the afternoon, collected my sculpture and walked to the south. Towards the sunset, came back to Mariaberget to watch the sunset. Sat under my tree again and watched the beautiful sunset, which you see in the painting. I can say that it was one of the best sunsets that I’ve seen. Made me forget every trouble while I was there. As in Swedish House Mafia’s song, this is me showing how struggle made magic.
