I am Ylva Julén. I live by the sea on the east coast of Gotland, Sweden.
The rough exterior seems to soak into my palette, regardless of motif. I paint fluid aquarelle, organic forms. Sometimes lines of graphite in search for volumes and movement or tension and senses. The play with composition and rythm, might have some to do with my work as a filmmaker and writer. Additionally I work part time in a psychiatric institution.
