About Emma
Emma is the woman behind TYKEN studio. She lives in her beloved Gothenburg, which is also the origin of the name TYKEN – even though she’s actually super nice. Creativity and creating have been part of her since childhood.
She discovered her love for ceramics a few years ago and hasn’t been able to stop playing with clay since. She uses hand-building techniques in her process and creates her pieces using stoneware clay.
Individually unique products as well as recurring favorites are made in the form of functional items, interior details, and artworks.
Through working with clay, she has found the charm in that perfectly imperfect quality that makes each product alive and unique. She’s often drawn to earthy tones but also enjoys adding pops of bright colors, patterns, and textures.
She hopes that her ceramics can bring joy and life to people’s homes.
