Collection: Svante Trottestam

I live in Stockholm, Sweden, and I started painting in the early 90s, an innocent act that has since shaped my life. My output - almost exclusively paintings in oil - is influenced by things I see in everyday life, but also by works of other artists.

Thankfully it is not my job to know what my pictures (cityscapes, landscapes, interiors) might "mean", but I'm happy to hear interpretations and the more they differ from eachover, the happier I get.

I exhibit regularly, but nowadays I refuse to write long lists under the heading EARLIER EXHIBITIONS. Instead I settle for the true but laconic statement "lots of them". (Underlined and with many exclamation points.)
