I’m Sofi Sapiha, a ceramic artist and illustrator from Ukraine working with playful, slightly silly ceramics.

My practice began about 2.5 years ago after burnout while working in digital illustration. I felt a need to create something more physical and hands-on, which led me to work with clay. What started as a small exploration evolved into a home studio, where I develop illustrations, throw ceramic forms, hand-paint them with glazes, and fire all of my work independently.

Mugs are a central focus of my practice, as I am interested in how everyday rituals (such as morning coffee) carry quiet emotional meaning and shape our relationship with objects. I see ceramic art as a balance between grounding, hands-on making and the emotional lift of color and playful imagery. It’s my way of bringing a little calm and magic into everyday life.
