Hey, I’m Markus! I’m an industrial design student and the guy behind Slappy Design.

I’ve always loved the raw, colorful aesthetic of skateboards, so I started taking retired decks and turning them into something completely different handcrafted tools and home goods. By upcycling the layered maple from old boards, I’m able to create handles and accessories that are incredibly durable and literally one-of-a-kind.

I’m inspired by the DIY spirit of skate culture and the challenge of finding a new purpose for "trashed" materials. For me, design is about taking those vibrant, battle-scarred colors from the street and refining them into a sleek, professional tool that feels great in your hand. Every piece I make has its own history and its own unique pattern you’re getting a little bit of the skatepark, repurposed for your daily life.
