About Selma

I paint because I need to. Creating is where I feel most present, most steady, and most myself. And the small strokes and tiny details really reflects how I feel — I don’t want the process to end.

The sheep entered my work by accident. One day my brother and I went swimming, and he stopped to watch the sheep. They were climbing on top of each other to reach the leaves of a tree. It was chaotic, silly, and unexpectedly beautiful. I began painting them in dreamy landscapes, and they’ve stayed.
