Collection: Oscar Gidefjord

A collision between naïve modernism, Scandinavian melancholy, and expressive abstraction. My work tries to foster a strong sense of movement and emotional intuition, almost as if the painting is discovering itself while being made. Rather than aiming for strict realism, I distort perspective, flatten space, and let color and texture carry the emotional weight.

A lot of the work sits somewhere between landscape, memory, and visual noise. Racing tracks, coastlines, crowds, water, architecture, roads, or figures often appear half-emerging from abstraction, like fragments recalled from a dream or a faded postcard. The paintings balance chaos and structure, broad gestural areas coexist with tiny narrative details, graphic symbols, or rhythmic marks that make the canvas feel alive and inhabited.
