My name is Marija, and I am at home on Södermalm in Stockholm and in Österlen in the South of Sweden. Mina blå projekt is a long-term project. At the same time, it gives me the opportunity to explore and create freely. Creativity is part of my life. A way of being.
From second-hand jeans that someone has passed on, I create something new. Leftover pieces of fabric and lace become playful appliqués, embroidery, and visible mending. Quality is important, but I appreciate things that are crooked and odd.
Jeans are a fantastic material. Producing the fabric requires a lot of resources, but the clothes can be given new life and new expressions, again and again.
