About Ellinor
Ellinor Åkesson is an artist and ceramicist currently based in Örebro, Sweden. She creates both functional pieces and sculptural works to be lived with, questioned and loved. Clay allows her to explore emotion through form and letting texture, movement and small imperfections speak for themselves.
In her sculptural work, chance plays an important role. Chance make the process fun and unpredictable. She lets the material guide the process, allowing shapes to emerge freely and inviting the viewer to pause and wonder. In contrast, her functional pieces are created with warmth and familiarity in mind-objects that bring a soft and personal touch into everyday life.
“Kram” means hug in Swedish and that is how I want my art to feel. My art is deeply personal, so when you hold something that I’ve made I hope it feels like a it hug-a warm and gentle embrace.”
