About Hesho Serray

I am a Swedish-Kurdish contemporary artist inspired by the energy of nature, organic forms, and constant change. In my intuitive creative process, I allow each painting to emerge through an interplay of color, light, shadow, and texture.

I build my works in layers of color and texture, allowing the light to play across the surface and create shifts that change depending on the viewer’s gaze and the light in the room. The tactile depth and organic forms give the paintings a sense of life and a strong presence.

Nature is my greatest source of inspiration, and I am fascinated by the energy and symbiosis between humans and the natural world. The woman surrounded by nature is a recurring presence in my paintings, as a symbol of strength, stillness, and our deep connection with the natural world.

I want to create art that is not only viewed, but experienced — works with energy, depth, and a timeless quality that continue to live and change together with their surroundings.

My art has been featured in Vogue, GQ, Vanity Fair, WWF, and The Perfect World Foundation. My works have also been auctioned in support of charitable causes and can today be found in private collections around the world.
