About Helen

Hi, I'm Helen

I have been drawing and painting for most of my life, exploring a variety of artistic media along the way. I hold a high school diploma in Art and Design, while the rest of my artistic journey has been shaped through self-directed learning and years of dedicated practice.

Working primarily in oil, I create highly detailed realist paintings that explore the quiet beauty of everyday life. My work often depicts familiar places, still lifes, and natural surroundings, where light, atmosphere, and subtle details become the true subjects of the painting. A recurring theme in my work is the subtle dialogue between nature and the human-made environment, exploring how they coexist, intertwine, and influence one another. I am drawn to ordinary moments that might otherwise pass unnoticed—a particular mood, a changing sky, the character of a tree, or the beauty found in everyday objects. Through careful observation, I seek to reveal the extraordinary within the familiar.

My creative process is slow and deliberate. Each painting is built through multiple thin layers of oil paint, allowing the image to emerge gradually, one detail at a time. For me, painting is an opportunity to pause, to observe, and to preserve moments that might otherwise disappear. I hope my work invites the viewer to slow down, look more closely, and discover the beauty that exists in the ordinary.
