Hello, my name is Rasmus. I am an architect and the founder of Folume Studio. Through my practice, I design paper lighting, striving to create sustainable, engaging and refined objects by exploring the potential of paper as a flat material transformed into three-dimensional form.

The lamps are based on a perforation technique that I have developed, in which digital two-dimensional patterns are translated into perforations in paper. These perforations determine how the paper is folded from a flat sheet into a three-dimensional volume, while simultaneously serving as a set of instructions that enable others to assemble each lamp.

Using a digital cutting machine to create these perforations allows me to push the boundaries of how I explore and develop form. Each lamp emerges through an iterative dialogue between digital design and physical making, driven by curiosity, material exploration and experimentation.
