Ekorrhjulet brings together Charlotte Alfort’s ceramic arts and crafts in the form of small-scale produced candleholders and objects, where craftsmanship, material and storytelling are at the centre. Her work is characterised by a close and long-standing interaction with the material, where curiosity and exploration drive the process forward. By experimenting with and delving deeper into different techniques, she develops a visual language in which each candleholder becomes its own small narrative. The starting point may be a feeling, a mood or something fleeting that has lingered. In the ceramic objects, these impressions are given physical form, as bearers of light in both a literal and poetic sense.
