About Dina
I am an oil painter who paints realist motifs with surreal colours. I am originally from Uzbekistan but live in Stockholm, Sweden. 4 words to describe my art: Colorful, Minimalist, Textural, Life. I usually paint mundane moments presented in restrained composition. My works are closeups of people posing in one way or another, with an emphasis on complex fabrics and folds. My father is an architect and an artist by training, and I was inspired to draw because of him. Due to personal circumstances I couldn't pursue this in my younger years, so now I'd like to think of it as making up for lost time. I’m self taught as a painter, but come from a product design background. I always liked drawing as a child but didn’t know how to pursue it as a career until recently.
