I am obsessed with ceramics — the physical experience of clay in my hands and the sensory world it creates. The longing to return to my studio when a firing is complete. The transformation of clay from raw material into a finished piece, and the thought process that ties everything together.

The imperfect and earthy qualities in my work draw inspiration from nature, emotions channeled through a deep reverence for its greatness. The unpredictability of glaze and firing is part of that process.

The human being as a universe of its own, discovered through ceramics. I love the Japanese ceramic tradition for its discipline in movement — coiling and burnishing that feels as natural as breathing, yet as light as floating.

I hope my creations can convey something of clay’s journey, in a unique way, to each and every one of you.”
