Collection: Bags By Linda

BagsByLinda is run as a mother-daughter project where it is me, Linda, who crochets based on models and colors that Alma develops. We are inspired by environments and things around us, colors at a sunset, flowers in a meadow, gates, benches, stairs and houses. Both Alma and I work in social environments where it is sometimes not so beautiful, therefore our creation becomes a balance and a free zone with only the beautiful and fine.

It started a few years ago when I crocheted for myself, but found that several people appreciated what I did. Alma and I wondered if we could do something about this together and that is when the concept BagsByLinda was created.

Our idea is based on different principles, the first is “perfectly imperfect” a reminder that we all or things around us do not have to be perfect to be beautiful and valuable. The second is an active environmental mindset, by using recycled materials to a very large extent for our bags and thus acting responsibly in the fashion industry. The third principle is based on feminism and gender equality. Historically, women have not had the same opportunities as men to participate in society and in business, but thanks to brave women who have fought, Sweden is today a successful country when it comes to gender equality. There is still a lot of work left before we reach an equal society, so the work continues. So to keep the idea alive and pay tribute to these women, we have named our bags after magical, colorful women and queens.

BagsByLinda are hand-woven bags in different models and colors, no bag is exactly the same and everyone is “perfectly imperfect”!
