About Arno

Arno Hoogland started his studies as a traditional woodworker in Amsterdam – where he got to know wood as a raw material in all its facets – before moving to the Design Academy in Eindhoven, where he experimented with interactive digital technology and new production techniques. These experiences shaped him into who he is today: a designer/artist with strong influences from futurism, driven by an urge to produce things that seem otherworldly, artefacts from realities yet to come into being. These realities are not bound by the limitations of today, but are instead futuristic visions, deeply inspired by science fiction and popular culture. The worlds of Frank Lloyd Wright, George Lucas and Katsuhiro Otomo shape his imagination, and yet his work is not limited to a single aesthetic. It may seem eclectic, but this diversity reflects different future realities: worlds waiting to be discovered.
