My name is Ann-Sofi and I am the founder of Vemod Keramik, focusing on handcrafted functional stoneware, with simple forms and earthy, sometimes melancholic tones. I like to let the glaze speak, allowing it to run, crack and meet another and I enjoy working in the space where accident and control come together. That is where the magic happens.
Melancholy is the driving force throughout my journey. For me, Vemod Keramik is not only about form and function, but about feeling.

In my ceramics, I want to capture the subdued and the fragile, and to awaken something within the viewer. The forms are often simple and imperfect, carrying an expression where glazes are allowed to bubble, crack and change – just like life itself.

Vemod Keramik is my way of giving form to the wordless. Each piece is unique and handmade with great care, even when produced in small series.
