About Josefine

My works on paper explore a more spontaneous and expressive side of my artistic practice. Working primarily with acrylic on paper, I build compositions through intuitive layers of colour, bold gestures, fragmented forms and delicate drawn lines.

In contrast to my more muted and tactile works, this series embraces colour, movement and imperfection. The process is instinctive and playful — allowing shapes to overlap, marks to remain visible and unexpected combinations to become part of the final composition.

The works move between abstraction and suggestion, often carrying a subtle sense of figures, landscapes or objects without becoming fully defined. I am drawn to the tension between the raw and the refined, the deliberate and the accidental.

Each piece begins as an original acrylic work on paper, preserving the texture, irregularities and energy of the handmade process.
