Collection: Alva Karlsson

In my work, I explore how figures, symbols, and narratives interact and evolve over time.

I work with both painting and stoneware sculpture, where I have created figurative forms and characters. The sculptures often emerge from the same world as my paintings, giving physical form to emotions that were previously two-dimensional.

My visual language moves between memories from my childhood, nostalgia, and experiences from adult life. By allowing these layers to meet, scenes are created where playfulness encounters reflection, and sometimes vulnerability.

In my works, everyday life and the dreamlike come together, often without a clear boundary between them.
