We are two sisters, Anna Larneryd and Marita Andersson, who found our constant source of inspiration already in childhood. We grew up in the heart of the northern Swedish wilderness – with enchanted forests, pristine snow, and magnificent open landscapes right outside our door. Nature, with its endless variety of colour, form, and texture, has shaped our entire way of seeing the world around us.

At the same time, we dreamed of the wider world beyond the mountains. A world of energy and culture, timeless elegance, and classic epics. It created an exciting contrast to the raw nature we lived in.

Marita paints the abstract, organic backgrounds. Anna paints the figurative details – women who step into the abstract space like a kindred spirit, a pilgrim, a shadow, or a memory.

Through ALMA, we intuitively weave together our different forms of expression. Each painting is a postcard from our shared journey through life.
