Adelheid Ottesen paints mainly with acrylics. She also works with graphics, woodcuts and serigraphy. Her abstract treatment of colors and shapes allows for the dissolution or separation of units such as time, place and action. Her compositions are characterized by flatness versus spatial depth, and a simplification of the visible world. She has a penchant for borders, patterns, still lifes and everyday motifs.
Adelheid Ottesen is a member of Konst i Dalarna (KID) and Falu Konstgrafiska Verkstad (FKV). She has participated in several art exhibitions in Norway and Sweden, including at Dalarnas Museum, Gruvans Museum and Rättviks Konsthall in Sweden and Galleri POP in Norway, and she has been purchased by several public institutions and the Dalarnas Art Association, as well as Region Dalarna.
