Spår är en serie unika ringar med avtryck efter granbarkborren, ett skadedjur som angriper träd och slingrar sig fram under barken.
Den lämnar förstörelse efter sig, men också oväntat vackra spår.I arbetet vill jag belysa det vackra i det fula och låta naturens egna märken få ta plats.
Ringarna är skulpterade för hand i vax av mig. Avtrycken är tagna från svensk gran och därefter gjutna i 925 silver. Varje ring är organiskt formad, ingen är den andra lik.

Spår (Traces) is a series of unique rings bearing impressions left by the spruce bark beetle, an insect that attacks trees and carves winding paths beneath the bark. It leaves destruction behind, but also unexpectedly beautiful traces.
Through this work, I aim to highlight the beauty within the unattractive and allow nature’s own marks to take space. The rings are hand-sculpted by me in wax. The impressions are taken from Swedish spruce and subsequently cast in 925 silver. Each ring is organically shaped, no two are alike.
