Sickening and desperate expressionist portrait painted with oil, acrylic, and pastel on linen canvas.
The base layer was applied so thick that it formed vein-like textures across the entire work. To me, the figure expresses desperation. Much of the painting is finger-painted to enhance the human sense of despair, a feeling so strong it almost overwhelms me if I look at it for too long. Combined with the sickening green tones and the tactile veins that can be felt on the surface, the work becomes a living organism on the wall. A mix of fear and fascination.
