Kollektion: Sofia de Waal

My name is Sofia and I live in Stockholm with my husband, our three-year-old daughter and our baby daughter. I’ve always enjoyed sketching, but during intense periods of studying, working and motherhood, drawing has been the first thing I let go of.

In 2024, I suddenly got the urge to start painting. This time I reached for the untouched acrylic paints my grandmother, who painted a lot herself, gave me years ago. Maybe I needed to grow up to understand the magic in painting, because now I’m hooked. Painting is now what I can call my passion and the first thing I choose to do whenever I have a few quiet minutes.

I’m still finding my identity in painting, but I paint with acrylics and sometimes add a few touches of oil pastels. I find myself reaching for pastel colours and I like painting semi-abstract landscapes with cute little details.
