About Lovisa
Pialin was born out of the idea that the products we buy should be made to last, and that we should celebrate the craft behind making them. We do this by offering multifunctional bags—bags that can transition and be worn as backpacks, crossbody, or shoulder bags with the simple action of pulling the strap. No buckles, no extras.Simple—just like Scandinavian design is known to be.
Our materials are our inspiration: we use plastic- and toxin-free, compostable leather sourced from by-products of the food industry.
The original vision of the Pialin brand was to create a versatile bag suitable for women on the go; because of seeing the market lacking in business bags for women. This vision has now expanded into a unisex product, with a elegant design suiting fashionable women & men on the go.
The brand was created by Pia Lindberg and Lovisa Herfindal—a mother and daughter building their vision together. After many years of sourcing materials and searching for production across Europe, they finally succeeded in creating a fully European product, with transparent production down to the very farm where the leather is sourced. By handpicking coatings, hardware, and zippers to be plastic-free, the product is made to last for generations.
All bags are designed and prototyped in the studio of the family home, and are finally handmade by a small family business in Portugal—ensuring control over every step of production, materials, and ethics.
The vision behind Pialin is: One bag, to be worn in three ways, across many generations—just as it was created by mother and daughter.
