About Elsa

I want to preserve the naivety and playfulness in the art I create, which comes to life through relatively simple and raw expressions. This is often achieved by not planning anything at all—only then can I maintain that unpolished, spontaneous, and childlike quality. By relying solely on intuition, color and shape take center stage, naturally tying into the composition and balance, which allows me to work more instinctively.

Everything I create starts on paper, which then either evolves into a painting or remains as an illustration. Alternatively, it’s transferred to the computer, where I experiment with different color combinations and compositions. When I paint, I switch between watercolor, acrylic, or oil, depending entirely on what feels fun in the moment—just like the rest of the process. The final result isn’t the most important takeaway from my art; instead, it’s the process and the journey of going from a blank sheet to something filled with color. Whether it ends up as a dot, a collage, abstract forms, or figurative shapes, it’s not something I can take responsibility for—it happens in the moment of creation.

For me, the undefined and spontaneous are what drive me and my art forward. It gives me the freedom to explore new approaches, thoughts, and stories.
