THREE KEYS TO SUCCESSFUL SELLING AT CAY COLLECTIVE

Wondering how to get more sales and views in your Cay store? These tips will help you grow and reach more potential customers.

KEY 1: ADD MORE ITEMS AND DESCRIPTIVES TO YOUR SHOP

Be continuous and varied! Sell what you love and continuously add items to your store to remind your customers and to offer variety. How many items you should have depends on what you sell.

How many items? Generally, the more expensive and time-intensive the items, the fewer a seller will stock. Look at successful shops who are selling similar items and see how many products they keep in stock to get a rough idea of a goal to work towards. However, start with what you have. If you only have 5 items now, list them (the minimum is 5 items). Don't wait to build up an inventory - consider adding more items and creating fresh merchandise as an ongoing goal to work towards.

Bullet points are your friend: Make sure to make it easy for customers to get information from your descriptions by cutting out superfluous language and making good use of bullet points. Prioritise important information that will help buyers best understand your product.

KEY 2: LEARN HOW TO TAKE GREAT PICTURES

Looks are everything! Attractive photos in different contexts will entice buyers from search results and will help your item to be featured on Etsy and around the Internet through SoMe and ads. Your buyer can't touch or see your item. Therefore, your photos and product information must tell them all about it. Size? Texture? What are the important details? Showing these in photos will give your buyer the essential information they need to make the purchase.

Clickability test: Search for your item, and look at the other items on the page. Does your photo make you want to click? Which do? What can you learn from them?

Still have a hard time? Ask a friend to have a photoshoot with you. We all know someone who is a really skilled photographer, whether it is their job or hobby.

KEY 3: MARKETING, MARKETING, AND MORE MARKETING!

Maintain a consistent brand voice: Your language that you use is both informative and reflective of your brand's personality, you have the chance to capture hearts in ways that visuals alone cannot. Therefore, it is important to view your language as another key element across your channels and in your store. Make it personal and connect with potential customers. 

Prioritise! Our main tip is to focus on one social media channel, for example if you have a younger audience you should focus on TikTok as your main marketing channel, and if your customers are less young or age diverse, Instagram or Facebook could be the way to go. It is most important that you update regularly with high quality posts, engage with followers and inform about your available products. If you have the time, you can use multiple media simultaneously to really boost your traction and viewers of your store.

Link to your store! What is most important for conversions is to make it easy to find your store and your products at hand. Therefore it is really efficient to tag your store in your bio as a website link. This is useful for any social media. You can copy and paste Cay URLs to use when posting on social media or to stick to your bio. This is the perfect way to make it as easy as possible for customers to buy your products.
